Dear God, Restorer of the breech, you make my bones strong, you satisfy my longing, you answer my call, you appear in my darkness, you guide me continually, you feed me. You do these things because you love me. You are these things because you are God. You delight in me! It is an absolute wonder. I am awestruck by your faithfulness to me. Your love for me. Your mercy poured out in my life. Because it is all true, no matter the *gestures widely* breech digging evidence and noise that surrounds me day in and day out. So you prepare me to shout out, to not hold back, about your Good News. About the Repairer of the Breech Himself! Godself! Jesus self! You! And even though my anxiety may be at a heightened state and on constant alert…and even though this feels like the hardest work I’ve ever done and I feel like giving up…and even though I seem to be good at flitting around and making noises, you. Yes YOU. You reign me in and remind me what you are all about so that I shout out about you. Making audible sounds so that I can see the world with new eyes, remember who you have made me to be – your beloved Child of God who has a strong spirit because of your Holy Spirit. I am Your Beloved who is tended to by you so that I feel like a well-watered garden. Oh God, help me to believe this, to feel it, that your faithfulness, that your Good News is the only thing to sustain me. You climb down into the breech with me and you guide me out. Constantly. Thank you, God, for the ways you make me able to be in the midst of all that shouldn’t be. With grit and tenacity and love that comes from you. Salt and light, baby!
Bring your rich flavor of love to my closest relationships today. Help me to see with your eyes and through my faithful feet and arms and heart that there is love all around me. Help me to love deeply today.
Bring extra doses of your salt and light to my friends and colleagues in CGP. It is so hard to be a pastor or a deacon or a chaplain right now. And it is such a gift.

It can feel like a burden to lead people EVERY. SUNDAY. Not to mention all the other days. So today, even for a moment, fill me with the joy of this job, this call, this privilege to point to you and to shout out and to quietly whisper and shed light on you and your love through Christ Jesus. And remind me it so for me, too. What a gift. Amen.
CGP-ers! Take a sip of water. Take a deep breath. Fill your lungs with the joy of the Good News. Don’t be afraid – God is with you.
If you have a prayer request for the CGP prayers, please email Laura at: aase@gustavus.edu. It can be as specific or as vague as you request. Don’t be shy – being prayed for is so powerful. Especially by other pastors, deacons, and chaplains.
