27 July 2025 Prayer for the Chaplain + Deacon + Pastor

You can pray along with Pr. Laura right HERE

Teach me to pray, God. I know you teach me throughout of all of my living. Through my missteps, and through my long, confident strides, and my sideways shuffles and my backsliding. You show me prayers alive and well through my dearest dears who are love with skin and bone on in my life. And you show me that you are active in my prayer life through enemies who cause me to seethe with anger and resentment. Prayer comes to life through the mundane and the extraordinary, through my “thank yous” and my utterances of “whys” and even my “nos!” in this life. Your life and mine, well they are inextricably bound together. Colliding and meshing as your word and promise somehow get lived out in my own reality. It’s such a wonder. So help me today to point to that wonder. To point to you. To revel in it. To be in awe of it. To say thank you a little bit more today. And to listen for you and to look for you, as we live out this life together, that I may see you had hear you more often. Stir up your Holy Spirit in me so that my weary and contrite heart can believe that you are faithful. That you are present. That you are active. I know that you know just how hard it is to love. So thank you, thank you for this great gift of prayer that teaches me, constantly, how to live and how to love. I really love that about you. Amen.

Precious child of God, remember that your prayers to God matter. Your life is held in the very heart of God. Don’t be afraid – God is with you.
