I know you love me unconditionally, God. But I’m just so well…conditioned to the ways of the world and my brain and my dark and angsty heart. It’s so easy to turn to you and in my worry and distractedness ask you to tell me what to do. And if I’d just take a moment to actually look at you, and take you all in. Well, if I actually did that, I’d have nowhere to go but to simply sit at your feet. To just be with you. That’s where it begins and ends – in you. With you. So often, this call finds me rushing about, trying to do All. The. Things. And I know you know – I know you know the stresses of all the things. All my things. I know that. And you don’t dismiss them. But your heart begs me to remember you in those moments. In those moments of breathless worry and stress. Even if for just one hot second. Because to remember you is to have things come into focus in the here and now. And it’s going to put things into focus in the whatever’s next too. How do I serve you? How do I show your love? Well, to remember your love, that’s the start. To remember that you are love – that is where I must be. With you. And to see that you are with me. Oh! It’s just the best.

Help me to share your best love with my lovelies today. With my family and my friends. And help me to be a good colleague and friend to them too. Because it’s all wrapped up in love for you. Thank you for that, for these rich relationships I have. Now help me to take just one more moment to remember that this is all worth it because it’s all for you. Thanks for getting my eye back on the ball, God. I love you too. Amen.

Child of God! It’s all going to be ok, even if it’s not ok right now. Trust in God’s faithfulness to you. Trust in God’s promises. Don’t be afraid – God is with you.
