Show me, God, so I can tell. Yes, and show me so my whole being remembers what this is all about. My call, the love I have for myself, my family – chosen and born into. Your love reminds me why. Just why. It answers the why, but not in the flimsy, temperamental love kind of way. But in the way that tells me all I need to know without tithering about all my worries and distracted thoughts and misguided allegiances. Help me remember that this message of your love is even for me. For me! So that, when I’m faced with the mundane or the wack-a-doo crazy, I will know how to proceed. With love that has purpose and direction and guidance woven through it. Thank you God for how you show up in my life and for all the ways you are madly waving your hands and showing up in the most unlikely places and people, vying for my attention. You duck and weave in the most creative ways to get me to remember what this is all about. Love that has no end. Mercy that bowls me over. Care and compassion and tenderness and grace. For me. And for the whole world. Well yes, that is worth it now, isn’t it?

Bless my beloveds with your love and my colleagues too. Remind us what a gift it is that you have given us to one another. And help us have eyes to see beyond those who are easy to love, because your love calls us into places and toward people we’d rather not personally face. And yet, there you are.

Your faithfulness brings me to my knees. Thank you. I love you. Amen.
